Dear Senator Coons,
In his post-debate interview with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, former Congressman Beto O’Rourke boldly declared “The NRA is no match for @MomsDemand and @AMarch4OurLives.”
-
Mr. Matthews, like most of the national media, appears clueless to the dramatic sea change going on in this country when it comes to gun policy!
Senate Republicans, led by the bought and paid for #MoscowMitch, are too scared of the NRA.
You, sir, may be too scared of the attacks the NRA will run in 2020.
But, corporate America understands moms and students now wield far more fire-power than the NRA!
The grassroots activists understand that despite the Second Amendment right to bear arms, businesses across the country are free to adopt their own policies regulating and even prohibiting guns.
In the wake of mass shooting at the El Paso Walmart, MFOL’s 150+ local chapters organized a nation-wide day of protests against the retailer.
MomsDemandAction launched a #GroceriesNotGuns campaign to pressure Walmart and other retailers to prohibit guns in their stores.
CEOs and PR departments, who once trembled with fear. are now outright dismissing the NRA’s threats. Instead, they’re bowing more and more to pressure from the gun safety activists.
Take note, Senator, the gun-toting and former NRA defender, Walmart CEO recently caved and “pledged that customers would be discouraged from carrying guns in stores even in states where it is legal.”
The NRA howled in response and made all sorts of boycott threats.
All to no avail.
Customers are being discouraged! A Walmart manager called the cops on this gun-toting man who refused her request to leave the premises. Cops are educating gun lovers who refuse to respect store policy of the limits of the 2nd Amendment.
-
Walmart proved the first domino to fall as 38+ other grocery chains bowed to MomsDemandAction’s campaign demand that their stores be gun-free zones.
-
Senator Coons, it’s not just Beto sending this message, it’s also corporate America.
“The NRA is no match for @MomsDemand and @AMarch4OurLives.”
